PERFORMANCE IMPROVEMENT
Clear expectations. Constructive conversations. Practical progress.
Performance concerns are easier to address when expectations are clear, feedback is specific and the reasons for difficulty are understood. Moving straight to a formal process can leave important questions unanswered about workload, systems, capability and support.
Equilibrium helps organisations approach performance improvement with structure and fairness, while keeping the person and the work in view.

Understand what needs to change
We can help clarify the expected standard, identify concrete examples of the gap and explore factors that may be contributing. This creates a sounder basis for discussion than broad labels or assumptions about motivation.
Turn expectations into an achievable plan
Support may include preparing managers for difficult conversations, reviewing role expectations and developing improvement plans with specific objectives, practical support and agreed review points.
A useful plan explains what improvement looks like, how progress will be assessed and what each person is responsible for. It also leaves room to consider new information and adjust support where appropriate.
Keep improvement and decision-making distinct
Our role is to support a considered process, not to manufacture a case for a predetermined employment outcome. Where a matter involves disciplinary action or legal uncertainty, the organisation may also need independent employment-law advice.
